| The CX/CXR range caters to the growing demand for safe transport of biological material. These so-called dry-shippers are equipped with special porous material acting as adsorbent for liquid nitrogen. The CXR vessels have cartridges with the adsorbent, allowing for replacement after a spill.
IATA permits the transport of CX vessels on board of aircraft provided they do not hold dangerous materials. The CX(R) offers a single central canister of 68mm, the larger 500 models have an opening of 216mm that allows to transport of blood bags. Holders are not included with the standard delivery.
The standard packing is reusable, more protection is offered by optional hard shell transport boxes.
Temperature/data loggers integrated in the plug also monitor tilting and accurately log monitor temperature and position during transport. A simple optional interface cable and PC software allows to read the data whenever convenient. Each unit has a unique address recognized by the software, which allows for more than one unit to be read from one cable/software set.
Battery lifetime is about two years. Software allows to set up each individual transport with an interval of 1 to 30 minutes. The logger holds a maximum of 8192 data sets in memory and has a temperature range of -199°C to + 40°C. |
