| The preferred choice for storing medium large quantities of cryo vials or straws very often goes in the direction of boxes rather than strips. Boxes handle easier and samples can generally be sorted and selected faster. The logical arrangement also allows them to be retrieved easier.
The LS750 is the in-between model: the vessel is identical to the largest 35 liter biological storage vessel VCH35, but offers racks with small 5x5 boxes racks that will hold 2ml cryovials. Starting with the LS3000, all larger units use racks holding boxes of 135x135mm for 9x9 cryovials with external threat or 10x10 vials with internal threat. They will equally hold all type of straws in visotubes, either arranged horizontally or vertically. The height of the boxes and the number of levels will result from the product to be stored.
LS vessels have a very low liquid nitrogen consumption. Automatic filling systems are available but considerably increase the nitrogen consumption. An interesting alternative is a level and temperature logger that timely warns for the need of a refill. More information on request. |
